A space for empowerment, growth and unity.

Kara Ged is a newly established not-for-profit founded by Cayla and Kailu George. Our goal is to give the Far North Queensland community a home for elite training and genuine connection — fostering growth, learning and belonging.

Our logo merges a palm tree with a basketball: a nod to the tropics and to the role of sport in bringing people together.

With the Olympics on the horizon and basketball rounds hosted in Cairns, Kara Ged aims to serve visiting nations and host preparation camps for Australia’s national teams.

We also hope to welcome WNBL and NBL teams for pre-season training when visiting the Cairns Taipans — including a professional team from Taiwan, eager to prepare with us.
